Dear Ms. Turrietta:

   
     By now I hope you have received the applications for our summer
 
workshop.  The summer course does not require that you know programming
 
but those who do might well be able to put these skills to work.  It would
 
be useful to do some reading on musical acoustics as this kind of information
 
is used in the construction of computer sounds.  Of course we give several
 
lectures on this subject.  Since all our work is done at computer typewriter
 
keyboards a rudimentary knowledge of typing is a great help.  (Some of our
 
foreign students have found the constant typing to be a major barrier.)
 
We probably will be sending out notices concerning who is accepted in the 

workshop towards the end of April.
